Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Climate Strategies Specialist to join our amazing Etifor team. The selected person will work in the Nature Positive Unit which is mainly responsible for accompanying organisations/companies/private clients in measuring, reducing and neutralizing their climate and environmental impacts.


Role and responsibilities

The person will work within Etifor's Nature Positive Program and report to the Program Coordinator.

The selected person will have the following responsibilities:

1. Manage a growing pipeline of private clients, partners and events that aim to contribute to a Climate Positive economy and generate positive impacts on the environment, providing consulting services, such as:

  • measuring and monitoring yearly emissions, according to international standards (GHG protocol, CFO ISO14064, CFP ISO14067, LCA ISO14044);
  • preparing and updating tailored climate plans according to clients’ objectives;
  • developing tailored reduction strategies;
  • elaborating risk assessment and adaptation/mitigation strategies, through the analysis of physical and transition risks.


2. Coordinate with team members in pursuit of those activities, especially supporting colleagues in compensation and communication activities.


Education

We're looking for candidates with a Master's or Specialist degree in:

  • Environmental Engineering;
  • Environmental Economics;
  • Environmental Sciences.

A technical profile is preferred.

Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following roles:

  • consultant or employee for private companies dealing with topics relevant for the job;
  • researcher, collaborator or scholar in university departments dealing with the topics that are relevant for the job;
  • self-employed worker or in associated firms dealing with the topics that are relevant for the job;


And topics:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability strategies focusing on environmental impacts;
  • Climate neutrality and net-zero pathways for businesses, including setting targets and implementing reduction strategies;
  • Environmental impacts assessment according to international standards.


Candidates with less experience than required may be considered based on their educational qualifications and other specific skills.


Required skills

  • A precise and organized professional, with both the ability to work independently and in an international team, with excellent multi-stakeholder project management skills.
  • A motivated person, who shares our company's ethical and sustainability values and has a personal and professional interest in environmental issues.
  • Fluent in Italian, with a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent analytical skills to efficiently carry out data organization, analysis and reporting tasks.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and in Google Workspace.


MUST HAVE:

  • Knowledge of the following standards for the environmental impacts assessment of organizations and products.: GHG protocol, CFO ISO14064, CFP ISO14067, LCA ISO14044; GRI sustainability reporting standards.


PLUS:

  • Basic knowledge of GIS software for location specific analysis of environmental impacts.
  • Basic knowledge of LCA software or other software and tools relevant for the job.
  • Knowledge of sectoral standards and methodologies (SBTi, SBTN, CDP, TNFD, TCFD, ACT-D).

Contract info

Start Date: Jan-Feb 2024.

Work Location: Etifor's office in Padua at Piazza Alcide de Gasperi, No. 41. We have a super-flexible smartworking policy!

Duration and level: To be determined during the interviews, based on experience.

Contract Type: Full-time (CCNL Commercio).
